Destination weddings – a calm and documentary approach

Getting married abroad is often about more than the ceremony itself. It is about gathering people in a place that matters, slowing down, and creating space for connection — not just for one day, but for a shared experience over time.

I photograph destination weddings with a calm, documentary and people‑focused approach. Rather than staging moments, I focus on being present, allowing the day to unfold naturally so the memories feel real, honest and recognisable.

I travel with you to your destination and follow your wedding with structure, overview and respect for both people and situations.

Who is destination wedding photography for?

Destination wedding photography is a good fit for couples who value presence, authenticity and a relaxed flow throughout their celebration.

Couples travelling from abroad

Many couples choose to get married in Italy, France, Greece or other parts of Europe, and want a photographer who brings structure, clarity and calm into an unfamiliar setting. I help create continuity and a sense of safety — even when everything around you is new.

International and multicultural couples

I also work with international and multicultural couples who prefer a natural, non‑staged visual language. With experience from multi‑day weddings and celebrations involving guests from different cultures, I work discreetly and thoughtfully, focusing on relationships, atmosphere and real moments.

What my couples have in common is a desire for images that feel true, rather than posed or trend‑driven.

How I work with destination weddings

My role is to create reassurance — before, during and after the wedding.

I work in a documentary way, with minimal posing and a strong focus on observation. This allows moments to happen naturally, while I step in with gentle guidance only when needed.

Before the wedding, I support you with:

  • timeline planning

  • light and time‑of‑day considerations

  • flow between locations and parts of the day

  • practical decisions related to photography

On the wedding day, I work calmly and unobtrusively. Many couples and guests experience this as a major advantage, as it allows everyone to stay present and relaxed.

Style, expression and storytelling

My visual style is natural, timeless and emotional. I work primarily with natural light, soft tones and genuine expressions.

The goal is for your images to:

  • reflect the atmosphere as it actually felt

  • show people and relationships, not just scenery

  • remain meaningful and relevant over time

I combine documentary moments with relaxed portraits, allowing you to be yourselves without stiff posing.

Destinations I photograph in

I photograph weddings and elopements across Europe. These pages provide more detailed information about specific areas:

  • Tuscany – warm landscapes, gentle light and a slower rhythm

  • Italy – from coastlines and lakes to historic cities and villages

  • Europe – France, Portugal, Greece, Iceland and more

Visit the individual destination pages for details and examples.

Communication, planning and peace of mind

Planning a wedding abroad can feel complex. My aim is to make photography a calm and predictable part of the process.

You can expect:

  • clear and structured communication

  • fast and reliable responses

  • guidance throughout the planning phase

  • experience with multi‑day weddings, welcome dinners and day‑after sessions

  • secure handling and full backup of all image files

I communicate fluently in Norwegian and English, and can also assist in Russian when needed.

Why choose a wedding abroad?

Many couples choose destination weddings because it offers:

  • more time together with guests

  • fewer, but closer relationships

  • the possibility of multi‑day celebrations

  • a shared experience rather than a single event

For many, the wedding becomes not just a ceremony, but a journey and a memory shared with family and friends.
